Scandinavian Marketplace is located at 218 Second Street East in historic downtown Hastings, Minnesota. The store is owned by Steve and Jenny Green and Janet Martin, Jenny's mother. The idea for this unique shop dates back over 20 years to Janet Martin's successful mail order business, Martin House Publications.

Martin House Publications received many requests from customers wanting to shop in person so in 1997, Steve and Jenny purchased the historic Pitz building in Hastings which was built in 1872.  The building renovation uncovered the original wood floors and the original brick walls.

After full renovation Scandinavian Marketplace opened and has now become one of the premier Scandinavian shopping experiences around in all of its current operations: walk-in customers, mail order and internet. We produce an annual fall catalog that contains new items just in for Christmas.
Our store hours are:
            Monday through Saturday 10am-5pm
            Sundays (Oct - Dec) 12noon-4pm
Mail order and Internet orders are processed Monday through Friday.

Directions from the Twin Cities:

From southbound on HWY 61, take the first exit past the Mississippi River bridge (3rd street exit) and make three consecutive right turns. That will bring you onto 2nd Street heading east. We are located 2 blocks down on the right-hand side.

From eastbound on HWY 55, make a left onto River Street (the fourth stoplight in Hastings on HWY 55) and take it about 6 blocks to where it dead-ends at 2nd Street. Turn right and head down for about 6 more blocks. We are located on the right hand side.
