The bulk of this account was written by Bruce Laingen while he was held hostage in the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tehran in 1979-1980...and even later, in solitary confinement. He found ways to write, usually on pages from paperback books that he would tear out and stuff in his clothing or shoes. Bruce Laingen, who grew up on a farm in southern Minnesota during the twenties and thirties, has the ability to portray truthfully and accurately what life was like for people who grew up in Midwestern rural areas. It's a wonderful read! Paperback, 139 pages.
